Happy New Year!  We had a great time celebrating the Lunar New Year this weekend.  Check out Ekrina enjoying a cup of Che Ba Mau (Tri-Colored Bean drink made with mung bean and coconut milk among other things) at lunch with Grandpa and Grandma.

You may be more familiar with the Lunar New Year being referred to as Chinese New Year or as Vietnamese New Year or Tết.  The date of the Lunar New Year varies year to year and takes place from the first day of the first month of the Lunar calendar (late January or early February) and lasts three days.  This year the start of the New Year fell on February 7, 2008.  2008 is the Year of the Earth Rat, one of the signs of the Chinese zodiac.
