Screen Actors Guild Awards: Play-by-Play Results
Outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role:
WINNER: Julie Christie, "Away From Her"
NOT THE WINNERS aka NOMINEES:
Cate Blanchette, "Elizabeth: The Golden Age"
Ellen Page, "JUNO"
Angelina Jolie, "A Mighty Heart"
Marillon Cotillard, "La Vie En Rose"
My reaction play-by-play:
First: I think Juno looks like a fun movie.
Two: I missed the movie about Elizabeth. And I call myself a history major.
Three: I rented "Away From Her" but couldn’t sit through it. Ah well.
Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture:
WINNER: "No Country for Old Men"
NOT THE WINNERS aka NOMINEES:
"3:10 to Yuma"
"American Gangster"
"Into the Wild"
"Hairspray"
My reaction play-by-play:
First: I knew I should have seen "No Country for Old Men"
Two: I can’t understand why neither Christian Bale nor Russell Crowe was nominated for "3:10 to Yuma". They both seemed to do a decent job IMHO. Three: "Hairspray" rocked!
Well, that’s all. That’s all the awards they aired on television. I think that SAG gives out some additional awards but they were not shown on the broadcast. Hope you enjoyed this coverage. I have to say that this was a nice change of pace after the very pathetic Golden Globe awards show turned into an hour long announcement. Have a great night!
