Cashmere Mafia Where Are You?
Well, tonight’s blog post will be brief. I was all ready to write an article about how I think that Cashmere Mafia is a great show for the female professional to check out. And typically it plays on Wednesday night @ 10PM on ABC so it seemed like an appropriate day to write such a post. Unfortunately, it’s NOT on tonight. I tried to search the ABC site to figure out when it would be back and couldn’t find the information. Luckily a trip to IMDB’s message boards revealed that the C-Mafia will be back next week, Feb. 6th. The one thing that I did manage to find on the ABC site is that they have all the full episodes that have aired so far (only four) available to watch.
Since I’m being brief (as brief as I’m capable of) I’ll try to summarize the
series in a few sentences. At first glance "Cashmere Mafia" appears to be like Sex in the City in the sense that there are four main female protagonists and it is set in New York City. But I think there are a couple of key things that set it apart from the "Sex in the City" mold.
1.) The four females went to business school together and now they are all working professionals with high-powered corporate jobs.
2.) The corporate world the characters exist in is recognizable, the women are saddled by their blackberries and competition with male colleagues.
3.) There truly are four main female protagonists who seem to share the airtime fairly in each episode. This is not a show narrated by one main character.
That’s all I have to say about it. Check it out if you get a chance. You might like it. Rating:

I have the hardest time deciding between a 3.5 and a 4 on this rating system. Remember that 3 on a 5 point scale is equivalent to 7 on a 10 point scale and a very positive rating.
