Best Oscar Moments

The 80th Annual Academy Awards ceremony is live.  These are the highlights of the night:

Jon Stewart’s opening monologue got the audience going in a good spirit.  The funniest part was when he mentioned how Vanity Fair had canceled their annual Oscar party in respect to the writers. He pointed out that next year it might be better to actually invite the writers to the party instead of canceling it.

Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway present the award for best animated feature.  Only problem is that Steve launches into a serious speech introduction about documentary awards.

Brad Bird wins for Ratatouille and gives a hilarious speech about a conversation he had with his junior high guidance counselor who tried to talk him out of "making movies".

Javier Bardem, winner of Best Supporting Actor for his role in No Country for Old Men, thanks the Coen brothers for "putting one of the worst haircuts in history" over his head.

Tilda Swinton wins for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Michael Clayton.  It looks like she is very surprised with the win but then she breaks out with a funny thank you speech where she brings up George Clooney’s batman suit.

Kristin Chenoweth sings "How do You Know" from Enchanted. You may have seen her in the Broadway production of Wicked.
