Top Super Bowl Commercials

Published by at 7:04 pm under Television

Super Bowl XLII has come and gone. The NY Giants were the surprise winner of the game. But almost as important, here are my picks for the winners of the coveted and costly ($2.7 million per 30 second ad) commercial spots.

Bud Light has a ton of ads in the Super Bowl. My favorites were the one where Bud Light gives you the ability to breathe fire – and then takes it away.  Later in the Super Bowl they had one that gave someone the ability to fly. Both were funny.

Audi R8 commercial was a parody of the grisly, horse head scene from The Godfather. Only the horse head in the commercial was the front of an old fashioned luxury car. Even the choice of actor in the commercial was factored into this theme – it was Alex Rocco, who played Vegas kingpin Moe Greene in The Godfather.

Diet Pepsi Max video of people all over the place just nodding off to sleep. Pepsi is promoting a new diet soda that has ginseng & more caffeine.

GoDaddy.com had a Danica Patrick exposure ad previewed that sends viewers off to their website in the hopes of seeing Danica Patrick "exposed."

Tide to Go was laugh out loud funny with a job interview taking place where the candidate has a giant stain on his shirt. The would-be boss tries to listen to the candidate but all he can hear is gibberish coming from the stain which appears to have a mind of its own.

Careerbuilder.com got two messages across in very creative ways. "Follow your heart" and "Wishing Won’t Get You a Better Job."
